The weekend is over. Why do I feel like I didn't do anything? Like I didn't get anything done?
What I didn't do:
It's not that I don't get anything done, I don't exercise any creativity. I haven't much, in my life. Accessing creativity is a learned skill.
- Friday after school I did three loads of laundry.
- At 7:00 we met Bin, E, and Brazey at Magpie's for pizza. Then E came home with us for a sleepover. The boys were good.
- Saturday morning started with a nice 5 mile jog.
- Handbell Choir Workshop at church, led by members of Tucson's professional group Sonoran Bells and headed by guest clinician Michael Mazzatenta. I got to ring a D3 bass bell, which weighs approximately 7-1/2 pounds. The biggest bell I ring in the church choir is a C4, which weighs 2 pounds 9 ounces. How dorky am I that I got excited about ringing that big D3?
- Baked the best batch of chocolate chip cookies ever, and ate 6 of them warm from the oven.
- Knit a row on the handbag I'm making (garter stitch... I'm a fledgling knitter).
- Went to Trader Joe's and Bookman's.
- Grilled out with my best friend, watched I, Robot with her, DH, and her DH, while Jack played Lego Star Wars on the Playstation with Ana's 16-year-old son. Transfered goldfish by hand from their temporary kiddie pool to a backyard pond. Played ping pong for the first time since elementary school.
- Sunday morning read two chapters of Lady Oracle, did an exercise video, then jogged with Cassie.
- Taught Sunday School to preschoolers.
- Relinquished my laptop to DH, whose hard drive kicked it on Friday. Poor DH, he's trying to reconstruct two months of data loss (since his last system backup on his laptop).
- Visited Goodwill and 22nd Street Thrift Store, then had lunch with Jack at Hot Delicious Arby's.
- Knit three more rows.
- Wrote a long-overdue thank you note to my grandma.
- Completed homework for a community college early childhood education credential correspondence course.
- Two more loads of laundry and cooked dinner.
What I didn't do:
- collage paint chits, as suggested by kirbanita on Take Joy!
- refashion an I Love Lucy t-shirt, as suggested by many users on Wardrobe Refashion.
- alter a book, as inspired by the work of Brian Dettmer.
- resurrect the doll I found in the recycle dumpster way back in July.
- catch up on my book tags.
- construct a paper Optimus Prime.
It's not that I don't get anything done, I don't exercise any creativity. I haven't much, in my life. Accessing creativity is a learned skill.

Actually, I need your advice... I'm making a gift for my mom and am at a complete loss for how to jazz it up - You were the first person that entered my mind to get ideas from!!!
P.S. Dang, those cookies were out of this world!
