Good for you! You should check your area for a local yarn shop. Usually there is someone there who is willing to give you some knitting or crochet 101 tips. I'm no expert but if you have questions let me know I may be able to help. ;0)

Thanks, Mim. I've been intimidated by the local yarn shops because so far everything I've made has been from thrifted or salvaged yarn. All those gorgeous, expensive skeins... I'm not worthy! If I went in and asked for help, you know I'd have to buy something. Maybe after a few more projects.

It's been a long time since I hiked, alone or with friends. My bestie from childhood, Ana, has begun exploring trails around Tucson. Today I joined her for a 6 mile hike starting at the Richard Genser Starr Pass trailhead in Tucson Mountain Park. I plan to join her for as many Sunday mornings as I can manage. We've been friends since second grade. That's three decades plus. I'm totally rockin' the Brett Michaels vibe. Those must be Ana's favorite ratty shorts. She's had them forever. Our hiking companion, Chel, who Ana knows from high school. saguaros and chollas, oh my
